In 2024, the project, “Eco-Smart Walking Stick” came into existence with the mission to provide affordable, easy-to-use walking to the visually-impaired individuals. The mission of the project was to make public spaces more accessible to those who are otherwise not taken into account in the planning processes of public spaces. The final stick was modified over a prolonged period of time by the incorporation of live feedback from its users to make it ready for continuous use.
To ensure that the project is aligned with a sustainable method, the Smart Walking sticks were produced in bulk with the use of recyclable plastic and aluminium. This was done with the intention of aligning the purpose of helping the visually impaired individuals with a sustainable goal of reducing the use of plastic at the industrial level.

As the project is progressing, the mission is to enhance the quality of the stick for different ages who constitute the visually impaired group, so that no individual, young or old, would be deprived of an easy access to public spaces. Furthermore, the mission is to reach this group pan India, and especially into the small towns wherein such infrastructures are either scarce or not affordable.
